DIY Crawlspace Encapsulation of a 100-year old House

We used duct tape on certain spots, probably would be better to use the poly tape across the entire floor. 

Materials:

  • Altair 113 Pint Crawl Space Dehumidifier 
  • Farm Plastic Supply 10’ x 100’ 
  • 6” Landscape Staples
  • Blue Summit Supplies Vapor Barrier Tape, 9mm
  • 1” Christmas Tree Clips

Tools:

  • Dewalt DW5224

Tips

  • Wear Kneepads
  • Dead blow hammers are great 
  • Make sure you have a high quality vacuum 

Things to avoid:

  • Do not use fabric reinforced vapor barrier
